Massachusetts State House Trip

Boston trip

By Jacob Stolberg

November 4, 2015

The Boston State House trip was a very exciting one. The troop got to see many interesting and historical items. We sat in the seats of the town representatives and got to see inside the chambers where voting on bills takes place. We also saw the Governor do a press conference and got to shake hands with him. The troop learned many things about the state house and how it works, such as how the federal government borrowed parts of the original form of government that Massachusetts had designed for themselves. After lunch the troop got to see the representatives in action. We were able to go into the chambers when they were in session, and got recognized by the State Speaker of the House – Robert DeLeo. We then saw the Representatives voted on bills that could be put into laws. This whole day was a blast and wouldn’t have been possible without the help from our State Representative Mrs. Kate Campanale. The troop thanks you for such a wonderful day!

Instead of buffet style dining, this year food we be prepared and eaten family style. This will make the waiter role even more important. TVSR has hired an experience chef to prepare a new menu of food, which we are all excited about.
